A War We Just Might Win

These anti-neocon lefties write in the NYT that their recent re-visit to Iraq finds lots of progress. It reminds me that of the various fighting parties -- the US troops, vs. what Michael Moore and other lefties call "freedom fighters" -- only the US troops have the goal of peace and prosperity. Here's how it works: when you read that 10 civilians have died either from a suicide bomb or from US bombs, that makes the US look bad, emboldens the "insurgents", and causes US peaceniks to pen fresh condemnations of Bush ; when you read that some area is safe and prosperous, we have the opposite effect, on all counts. Thus only one group has peace and prosperity as its goal.
