Racist Capital Cops Accuse Rep of DWI

Oops, it wasn't Cynthia McKinney that capital police supervisors let go, only to be undermined by union supporters, it was a Kennedy. Too bad he doesn't have a race card to play.

Maybe he told the cops that he had just gotten gang-raped by three lacrosse players.

This post shows the dangers of many prescription drugs. Just say "No".

Paul, you have to make everything a racial issue, don't you?

Nadir: *I* didn't make "it" racial. I merely expose the absurdity of those who do. Cynthia McKinney made her legal run-in racial, and the ignorant lacrosse stripper supporters have made that case racial (even more racial than the strippers themselves did).

As for Kennedy, bartenders are already coming forward and saying that he was drinking at their place that night. (Unless you were kidding about accepting his excuse.) What bothers me the most here is that annually thousands of safe-driving people go to jail after they get pulled over for minor traffic crimes, which blow up into a DWI because the cop smells alcohol and turns that into a legal jackpot. Here we have a rich politician who's driving dangerously -- and pulled over for it -- and he gets a ride home.

If a courthouse cop told you to stop and grabbed your arm and you turned around and hit him, Nadir, or if in one of your annual traffic tickets happened to coincide with your having some beers, you would have been arrested and had to fork over a few thousand bucks.

I don't for a minute think that Democratic politicians get better treatment in these situations than do Republicans, by the way.

This keeps getting better. Now Kennedy is checking into a clinic to treat "addiction" to "prescription medication". These lawmakers create these horrible laws -- such as those that give DWIs to people who are driving safely but get pulled over in a drag net or a speed trap (along with a bunch of people who've not been drinking) -- but when *they* are driving so drunk that they're driving dangerously, they get their own special loophole.

I'm sure that a republican would do the same thing.

Getting even more fun! Kennedy is getting away with labeling his DWI as a prescription drug problem, with no mandatory 24-hour jail stay, no DWI prosecution, no commmunity service, no record, etc.

The liberals have these good points: Bush got his DWI similarly treated years ago (and perhaps cociaine possession?), and Cheney avoided his own drunk test when he shot his hunting buddy recently. I sadly report that Ann Coulter on TV just avoided these charges, rather than accept them. She should admit that this isn't a left-vs-right situation, but a celebrity-vs-civilian situation.
