Bush calls domestic problems "background noise"

President George W. Bush, hit by a series of domestic woes that have eroded his popularity, said on Thursday he was focused on his job and not on what he called "some background noise."

"Stop all this nonsense! You're killing my buzz!"

The Bushies play nasty politics, and they are getting hit by nasty politics. Rove and Libby counter-punched a political opponent -- Plame's husband -- and he hit back, with what I assume was a shock to Rove and Libby: Plame's undercover status. I would sympathize with Rove and Libby if I thought that they wouldn't have done the same in the same situation. Rove has benefitted mightily from good luck, such as Nadir dividing the left in 2000. Now he is getting hit by bad luck: Plame turned out to have had undercover status. I reckon that it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

Why do I keep getting blamed for dividing the left in 2000? It wasn't me! It was that guy Ralph who spells his last name N-a-d-E-r.
