Well-well, our journalist friend was released without incident, head still attached and everything. Good for him.
He must've been given the opportunity to explain his apologistic stance on and sympathy for his jihadist captors. They must've figured he was more valuable to their cause alive than dead. Let him live and he can continue spreading his slander and propaganda about U.S. troops.
Lop his head off, and he's, um,...dead. Dead men aren't too good at spreading slander and propaganda, are they?

You should be thrilled by this turn of events, Slinger. Why aren't you happy that this champion of Western journalism and earnest reporter of the U.S. crusade for Iraqi democracy was freed without a scratch?
"Slander and propaganda"? Yet you are unwilling to accept that U.S. troops could have burned corpses and spread propaganda in Afghanistan?
Which is it, Slinger? Are you FOR propaganda or AGAINST it?
I'm against the kind of slander and propaganda that you're for.
And yes, of course I'm happy that this gentleman was released unharmed.
I am not an advocate of slander. Propaganda, however, is a tool used by all sides.
And is it propaganda if it is the truth? I would argue that "the truth" is not propaganda.
I would also argue, and you would disagree, that the U.S. government lying to the American people and using propaganda and information warfare against its own citizens to increase support for an unconstitutional, illegal war, is treason.
