Bin Laden: Racist? Slave Owner?

This might crush Nadir's heart. The guy leading a fight to unchain the muslim world from US white racist imperialism might himself be an anti-black racist who owns black slaves. One woman, a black Sudanese novelist and poet, who identifies herself as one of his former slaves, quotes Laden: "African women are only good for a man's lower pleasures. What need do you have for a womb?"

Her website links to the book, "Escape From Slavery," by another black African enslaved by Muslims, Francis Bok, who lives today as a free man in... racist USA!:

I have never expressed any support for Bin Laden. He's a CIA thug.

By the way, I know Kola Boof. Nice woman.

"Kola Boof was not Osama's Slave"

Letters to the Editor: 22 August 2006, Tuesday.

Dear Friends,

In your recent news item about Whitney Houston, Kola Boof and Osama Bin Laden, you reported that Kola Boof has described herself as the former "sex slave" of Osama Bin Laden.

Kola Boof has never called herself a "sex slave" and finds the term degrading and racist, not to mention a lie.

U.S. Media, who have made fun of Ms. Boof's name and her allegations in sensationalizing and mis-reporting the story, have given Ms. Boof this title to humiliate her, and Ms. Boof is greatly offended by it, as she will mention in a national television interview with MSNBC NEWS tomorrow morning.

Kola Boof was Mr. Bin Laden's "mistress", she had a maid and supervised the staff at the estate. There is no way that anyone could read her autobiography and determine that she was a "slave".

We realize that this is not your fault, as the N.Y. Post started this and the ugly title trickled down to other media, but we hope you will not continue to outrage your black women fans by presenting this woman's experiences under the term "sex slave".

I stand corrected.

However, I object to the notice's label as "racist" the incorrect charactorization of Boof as a "slave". Boof surely believes that black people in Africa today exist as slaves, that this slavery represents a signficant phenomenon, that no white people participate as "owners", and that the most significant population of "owners" comprises muslims, both of Arabic and black "racial" catagories. Therefore, one must not be a "racist" to errently charactorize Boof as Bin Laden's "slave", especially within the context of how Laden's taliban-islamic practices regard all women. Use of "racist" to correct this mistake surely violates the definition of that word, and diminishes its correct application.

Also, the notice does not dispute the truly racist comment attributed to Bin Laden.
