Liberals Limit Options for Black Katrina Victims

Katrina victims in Mississippi can get the feds to buy their ruined homes at pre-Katrina prices. But in New Orleans, liberals (black and white) fear that a higher fraction of poor black folks will "take this money and move else-where, leaving New Orleans whiter and more middle class" than before. So here we have conservative white Republicans attempting to give black folks what they want (money to move from black ghettos into white areas), and liberal black democrats preventing this. Just like in the school voucher situation: most black folks want them (and it would result in more blacks attending white schools) but black liberal democrats locking black folks into ghetto schools.
