Coffee - UnJustly Maligned, Nurishing, Curative

Condemning coffee due to its containing caffiene is like condemning whole grain bread or apples because they contain naturally occuring sugar. When Gen. Alexander Duma -- mulato father of the writer -- found himself a POW after conquering Egypt for Napolean, he attributed his survival to two medicines: coffee and chocolate (another unjustly condemned food/medicine). Natural coffee -- and natural chocolate -- exist to please and nurish us. Foldgers (and Nestles) rob our health with "white bread" variations. Embrace food and health.

I advocate a diet of the following:

- one cup of coffee per day
- one glass of wine or beer per day
- six servings of fruit and veggies per day
- two servings of either fish or poultry per day
- two servings of whole grains per day
- one serving of beef per quarter
- one serving of goat, lamb, rabbit or wild game per quarter
- apple pie, tequila, fudge brownies, herb, ice cream, and Snickers bars in moderation
- no pork
- no vodka
- no harmful drugs like cocaine, heroin, asprin or antihistemines

Sounds pretty reasonable to me.

I'm un-convinced either way about distilled beverages, and assume that there's nothing worse about eating pigs than cows or other mamals.
