So Much for Santorum's WMD Claims

Sen Rick Santorum (R-Pa) and Rep. Peter Hoekstra (R-MI) held a press conference yesterday to announce that weapons of mass destruction had been found in Iraq, only to have their claims flatly disavowed by the U.S. Department of Defense.

Nadir: Why didn't the evil, lying Bushies use this opportunity to put some meat onto their "lies"?

I don't know. I have no idea why they haven't planted the weapons yet. That would have somewhat justified their illegal invasion.

The fact that they haven't taken this opportunity confirms, however, that they don't care that nothing was found. In reality that was never the point of the invasion.

Nadir: I consider the plan to have been logical and worth a try with or without WMDs. I am uncertain that it got implimented appropriately, which for me means:

- Minimum amount of civilian damage and death.
- Minimum amount of curruption and inefficiency with regard to rebuilding/building.
- Minimum amount of torture of captured people / maximum amount of forbearance.
