People who get indignantly offended by expressions of thought to the point of demanding appologies, retractions, and ceasations are intellectually immature, and the extent of their demands directly correllates with the extent of their intellectual retardation. That makes the US Christian rightists and leftists seventh graders (for demanding the firing of the Dr Laura and the Colorado professor), Europeans second graders (for imprisoning people for racist remarks), and these muslim protesters infants.
The point for most Muslims is not just that the cartoons of Muhammad are offensive, but that there are depictions of the prophet in the first place. Muslim tradition holds that there should be no "graven images" of Muhammad or Allah. Making them offensive to Muslims just fans the flames.
