"Anybody want to kill a nigger?"
Finally, some real anti-black racism: organized violence to rid neighborhoods of blacks, by killing them on sight. According to the article, these anti-black racists aim to "fight the 'infestation' of blacks in Highland Park with a systematic terror campaign designed to run them out of the neighborhood."

Nadir: If I thought that white folks were doing things like this, I would oppose the actions resoundly, and I would not hold the position that I have adopted over the years, which is that white people have advanced past racism, and consequently blacks in the US no longer confront white racism as a major factor in their lives. I am not hoping that white people are secretly carrying out racist acts, ie, I am not rooting for the Duke rapists to escape justice, in the hopes that a phenomenon of white boys raping black girls can continue.
Instead, I have over the years examined facts and my own experiances and concluded not only that white-on-black racism not only has ceased to exist as a significant factor blocking the advancement of black folks, but that the widespread counter-view is itself impeding black progress.
I am very happy to have concluded that the wars fought by Nat Turner and Medger Evers have been won. So yes, when I read that some black folks are getting terrorized out of neighborhoods by summery execututions, I am indeed happy that my sense of victory remains in-tact. But I would not ignore or hide evidence to the contrary simply in order to maintain my relished sense of victory, even as it becomes made false by facts (facts which I have ignored or even hidden).
If indeed whites are doing to blacks in 2006 what they did in my neighborhood in 1978, I would be horrified and discouraged, and worry starkly for the futures of my daughters in particular, and my society in general. But the facts as I continue to scrutinize them continue to convince me that I am correct to celebrate the efforts of Gabriel Prosser and James Merideth as triumphs.
When I first heard about the Duke rape case, I believe that I recorded in this very blog that I was reconsidering my assessment in these matters. Like all the blabbermouths on cable news (lefties and righties alike), I believe the original story: some white guys at a major university raped a black girl, then hungout on their porch shouting "nigger" at black passers by. I stated then that my overall view on racial matters predicted that such events would not happen in the US in 2006, and that this event was forcing me to reconsider my view. Then more facts materialized, and we learned that no rape occured, and that the only black-on-white racial insults involved an argument over money in which the black participants initiated the racial insults, and gave at least as well as they recieved once the exchange.
Was I happy to have my initial conclusion re-confirmed? Yes, Nadi. Yes, I am glad that indeed we do not reside in a world where young white scions do not include in their normal drunken frivolties the raping of black women and the boisterous insulting of black passers by. And if I found evidence to the contrary, I would accept it, and modify my view, as is born out by my initial reaction in this matter, documented in this blog.
Meanwhile, our mutual friend Lee Martin has been terrorized out of his neighborhood, as you well know. Lee is black, and has been a devoted Detroit resident of an all-black neighborhood. He got robbed twice in a month, and has fled for his safety *FROM* a black neighborhood, *TO* a honkey neighborhood (in the freakin' subburbs). This is a powerful scenario, and one that exemplifies the general statistics: black people today face greater impediments to their success and safety from other blacks than they do from whites. This is a very sad reality, and not one that I happily acknowledge. But it should be an easier one to fix, than was the former problem of white racism in the US.
