Armitadge was on the Bush team at the time. No need for a conspiracy just because he wasn't in the inner circle. If anything, he had more reason to protect the yellowcake story because he was protecting Powell.
Whether they feel bad about it or not, he and Powell are complicit in the failed invasion and occupation of Iraq because they lied to the American people and the UN.
