This sentence sums up today's modern, contemporary, leftist liberalism. It's all about about feeling good about yourself, not about actually accomplishing anything constructive.
TS has been banging this drum for a long time, to deaf ears. It demonstrates the intellectual immaturity of leftist, wanting -- demanding! -- mutually incompatable phenomena:
Pristine landscapes...
...and affordable energy.
...and affordable housing.
...and economically and ethnically diverse populations.
Taking money from evil "rich" people...
...and a high-employment economy with opportunities for upward mobility.
Schools that produce students who perform well intellectually
...and curricula stuffed with non-intellectual matters.
No "price-gouging"...
...and ample supplies during disasters.
"Universal healthcare"...
...and a maximum number of people having access to medical treatment. I love the example of "universal healthcare" in Canada, with people waiting months for treatment, having had half their income confisicated in taxes and none leftover to travel to the US and pay.
